NORTEC raised access floors - Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver

Lindner products are developed and produced for the longest possible technical service life with optimized use of resources. Following the Cradle to Cradle® principle, Lindner is increasingly looking at the complete product cycle of components and system products. The aim is to avoid the generation of waste right at the beginning of the life cycle. Products should be created in such a way that, at the end of their useful life, they serve as a raw material for the next generation of this product – a closed technical circular economy. What sounds relatively simple is a major challenge for system building products, which are made up of many different components of different materials.

Through extensive research and consistent further development, Lindner is now creating the conditions to process products from its own production “from the cradle to the cradle”. A pioneer in this field is the NORTEC raised access floor, whose calcium sulphate core board is made from FGD gypsum, water and cellulose fibers at the Dettelbach plant. Based on the findings from the in-depth life cycle assessment of the production site and the creation of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025, NORTEC was successfully developed into the world’s first system flooring with Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver certification.
