Product label DGM - RAL quality mark emission class
The DGM – RAL Quality Mark Emission Class is an emission label for furniture.
It is used to identify furniture that is particularly low in emissions and therefore has a lower impact on indoor air quality.
This quality mark is based on the strict guidelines of the RAL German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification.
Award criteria for the DGM - RAL Quality Mark Emission class
The following guidelines must be complied with in order to have products certified with the DGM – RAL Quality Mark Emission Class:

Here you will find several tables with precise information on emission limit values for individual product groups under point 4 “Test specifications”.
The DGM - RAL Quality Mark Emission Class is suitable for the following product groups:
- Seating furniture
- Box furniture
- Tables
- Office furniture
- Slatted frames
- Mattresses
- Beds
DGM - RAL Quality Mark Emission class: Certification body
To apply for certification of your products, you must write to the office of the Deutsche Gütegemein- schaft Möbel e. V., Friedrichstraße 13-15 in 90762 Fürth.
All products that you wish to have certified must be listed in the application.
A legally binding signed certificate of commitment must be enclosed.
You will find this at the bottom of this document in the appendix.

Is the DGM - RAL Quality Mark Emission Class mandatory?
The DGM – RAL Quality Mark Emission Class is a voluntary certification that furniture manufacturers and retailers can apply for in order to demonstrate the environmental and health compatibility of their products.
The decision to use the quality mark lies with the companies themselves and is often part of their marketing and sustainability strategy.
